Neciu Andrei-Răzvan (b. 1998 in Slatina) is a visual artist and doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, where he is also based. He is interested in interdisciplinary projects, and his practice is shaped around experimentation. The issue he repeatedly addresses is how to contextualize the technical process of printmaking, placing it at the intersection with new visual media. His intention is to preserve the technical principles while changing the visual formula and giving it new values, detached from a traditional understanding that is limited in expressive potential. The themes he explores are closely linked to social topics, highlighting the relationship between the social environment and the influence it exerts on the individual through various means such as mass media, social customs, paradigms, and so on. These subjects become objects that he translates into visual form, both through the use of traditional media and through their fusion/intersection with new means of artistic expression.
