Emil Ciubotaru

I am Emil Ciubotaru, a romanian artist, and for me color is the way I breathe. I write my thoughts in colors on canvas, with dense, sometimes gentle, sometimes restless strokes, as if each work were a confession that I never said out loud. I paint the flowers that never die, the seasons that pass through me more often than the calendar and the cities where light trickles down the buildings like a warm memory. Sometimes, I let reality speak. Other times, I twist it, disturb it, transform it into abstractions that bear traces of soul and colorful silences. The brush and palette knife are an extension of my hand. In their wake, thick layers, reliefs, vibrations, traces of the way I feel the world remain. Each color I place is a short story, and each work is an event once experienced, maybe by me, maybe by you. Painting is my way of putting emotions in order and giving form to things that cannot be said. If a painting of mine makes you stop for a moment, breathe differently, or remember something you thought you had lost, then my art has found its way!
