Adrian Ghiman (b. 1989) lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is a graduate of the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. His artistic practice centers on drawing as a primary tool for investigating immediate reality. Drawing operates as a mental and corporeal process, a space where observation and imagination intersect. It functions as a laboratory of thought—an intimate, temporary trajectory in which perception mediates the relationship between gesture and reflection. Ghiman works predominantly with graphite, exploring its materiality and tonal range, often complemented by mixed media techniques. Adrian Ghiman has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Romania and internationally, including Almost, but not quite the world (3:e Vaningen, Gothenburg), Nothing lasts, except maybe this (Drossu Gallery, Iași, 2025), Contemporary Drawing in Romania (Scemtovici & Benowitz Gallery, Bucharest, 2023), Towards a Shared Vision (Centrul de Interes, Cluj-Napoca, 2023), Hang Me Out to Dry (Etaj – artist-run space, Bucharest, 2021), Entblößte Körper (Kulturpalast Wedding, Berlin, 2021).
