Dorin Crețu is a Romanian artist representative of the 1980s generation of visual artists. He has been living and working in Paris since 1990. Author of paintings and graphic works positioned between figurative and abstract, Crețu employs a highly individual technique to create geometric and floral patterns with a transparent, reflective quality and enigmatic movement effects. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Paris, London, Kraków, and Taipei. In Romania, he held a major retrospective exhibition at the Mogoșoaia Palace Cultural Centre, later presented at the Constanța Art Museum (2008–2009). His works have been acquired by the French National Contemporary Art Fund and by the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Romania for its permanent collection. He has received numerous awards, including the Diaspora Prize awarded by the Union of Plastic Artists (UAP) in Bucharest. Most recently, his 2024 exhibition in Brașov was recognized with the Excellence in Painting Award, granted by the Romanian Ministry of Culture.
